Frequently asked questions
+Do I have to change the receiver drier?
Yes. The desiccant saturates within minutes of being exposed to air, and a saturated drier keeps moisture in the circuit that will freeze at the expansion device and corrode the system from the inside out. Every compressor warranty we offer requires a new drier.
+Can a condenser be flushed?
A serpentine condenser can usually be flushed. A parallel flow condenser cannot: the passages are too fine and debris will not come out. If a compressor has failed mechanically on a parallel flow system, replace the condenser.
+How much oil goes into a new compressor?
New compressors ship with a full system charge. Drain and measure the oil from the old unit, pour out the difference and leave only the volume the vehicle specifies. Use the grade printed on the compressor label.
+Does a universal compressor fit any vehicle?
The compressor is universal, the installation is not. With the correct engine bracket, pulley diameter, belt grooves and hose fittings it becomes a permanent solution. Send us the vehicle details and we will work out the right combination with the bracket.
+Are R1234yf and R134a interchangeable?
No. The service ports differ, the oil specifications differ and the desiccant grade in the drier differs. No manufacturer approves converting between the two gases.
+Can you tell me whether a part fits my vehicle?
Send the registration or the numbers stamped on the old part and we will check it against the catalogue before you order. Call us or use the contact form.
+How do I follow an item that is out of stock?
Press “Notify me when available” on the product page and leave your contact details. We will get in touch when the item reaches the warehouse; the record is used only for that notification.
+Do you ship abroad?
Yes. We are a foreign trade company and ship regularly to Europe, the Middle East and Central Asia. We handle the customs paperwork, export packing and freight. Refrigerants and pressurised cylinders can travel by road and sea only.
